Holy Stone 4 channel 2.4GHz Mini RC Drone
If you are currently searching for a good quadcopter, it is important that you do your research. I personally enjoy researching and reading all about the different drones on the market. Recently, I stumbled across the Holy Stone and would like to share my findings with you …
Description of the Holy Stone
The Holy Stone 4 channel 2.4GHz Mini RC Drone is a lightweight hobby quadcopter perfect for everyone, from beginner to advanced. It’s powered by a rechargeable LiPO battery and comes equipped with a camera for taking both video and snapshots. It has four levels of control and works well both indoors and outdoors. This drone is great for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists looking for a smaller, easy to use quad.
Features and Benefits
The Holy Stone Mini RC Drone features a 6 axis gyroscope for added stability. It offers four levels of input from 25%-100% which makes it perfect for beginners, but it can also be used by an individual who is experienced.
It’s Light in Weight and Flight Times are 5-10 Minutes with 45 Minutes Recharge Time
The lightweight, quad comes equipped with rechargeable LiPo battery. Typical flight times for the Holy Stone Mini RC Drone are approximately 5-10 minutes with a 45 minute recharge time.
The Remote Distance Isn’t that Bad
The remote distance is approximately 100 meters in all directions. The remote offers an intuitive LCD panel display and the quad offers up/down, left/right, forward/back and leftward flying/rightward flying directions as well as 360 degree, 4-way flip and continuous roll.
Equipped with a 720p Camera
Holy Stone Mini RC Drone comes equipped with a 720p camera for taking videos and still shot and an included 2GB micro SD card.
Pros and Cons
The Holy Stone Mini RC Drone has many pros, but as with any product, there are also some cons. Despite its lightweight, the drone typically handles well in windier situations. The quad functions perfectly indoors and outdoors when there isn’t much wind (this is how many drones operate).
In addition, the Holy Stone Mini RC Drone is durable and is able to survive crashes into all manner of surfaces including surfaces that contain trees. It also comes equipped with a “headless return home” feature that brings it back to the transmitter if the user loses sight of it. The Holy Stone Mini RC Drone flies well and is very agile, though it can be difficult to control for beginner, even at 25% input. The quad comes equipped with a rechargeable LiPo battery with a charging time of only 45 minutes. Unfortunately, although the LiPO batter for the quadcopter itself is included, batteries for the remote are not. The battery life also often ends up on the short side of its range. The camera works quite well and comes equipped with sound, although the picture quality does not live up the its HD advertisement. In good lighting, the pictures and videos are decent, but they are also clearly not HD quality.
Conclusion
From a beginner looking to try out their first quad to a seasoned hobbyist, the Holy Stone Mini RC Drone has something to offer everyone. It’s a durable, lightweight quad with relatively easy controls and stepped input making it flyable for users of all skill levels. As an added bonus, it comes equipped with a rechargeable battery and an attached camera for video and still shots. The Holy Stone Mini RC Drone makes a great purchase for anyone wanting to try out aerial RCs and for those experienced users looking to try something new. I would personally highly recommend this to an individual who is just starting to get into the world of RC equipment.
