In addition, this quad offers FPV flight thought its camera and remote. It’s easy to control and works well both indoors and outdoors. This quad is the ideal starting point for those who would like to practice using FPV on their aerial RC.

The Hubsan X4 H107D features a 6 axis flight control system with adjustable gyroscope sensitivity for added stability. The 4 channel function provides stable flying and easy operation that is good for beginners and experienced hobbyists alike. The lightweight, quad comes equipped with rechargeable LiPo battery. Typical flight times for the Hubsan X4 H107D are approximately 5-9 minutes with a 30-45 minute recharge time. The remote distance is approximately 30 meters in all directions. This quad boasts 3 speed setting and offers 4-way flip: left, right, forward, and backward. The quad comes equipped with a camera and LCD transmitter for immersive FPV flight using real time video, while also recording the video to a micro SD card.

Pros and Cons

The Hubsan X4 H107D comes with a variety of pros and cons. Due to its light weight, the quad functions perfectly indoors and outdoors with little to no wind, and despite its light weight, the Hubsan X4 H107D is incredibly durable and is able to survive crashes into all manner of surfaces including trees, grass, and pavement. It also come equipped with LED lights for directional help, though the quad is so small it’s still easy to lose sight of it when it gets too high. This quad proves relatively difficult to fly and almost impossible to direct using only the FPV. The camera is situated such that there is no peripheral to the video, making it difficult to use for directionality. In addition, the use of the transmitter for the LCD screen cause the batteries to die very quickly. Unfortunately, although the LiPO batter for the quadcopter itself is included, batteries for the remote are not, and it would be beneficial to purchase rechargeable batteries for the remote as well, considering how quickly they die. The battery life on the quad itself also often ends up on the short side of its range. The camera does work just as advertised, and the FPV feature is a neat add-on for beginners and makes good practice for more experienced flyers.

Conclusion

For a more experienced RC flyer looking to get some practice using a relatively primitive FPV system, the pros of the Hubsan X4 H107D definitely outweigh the cons. It’s a durable, lightweight quad with controls that can present a challenge to a more inexperienced buyer, but are perfectly useable for a seasoned hobbyist. The resolution of the video is adequate to help with directionality, but the lack of peripheral video makes it impossible to direct the quad strictly by FPV. Even so, it provides the ideal first tie FPV experienced for the hobbyist looking to try it.
